They performed 40+ songs, a non-stop assortment/arrangement of their hits, and shared the stage for about a third of the show. Jay-Z and Beyonce are such a dynamic couple. A quick stop at the original Sightglass shop, dinner in SOMA with the one and only Renee Hong at the Willows, and our first ever Uber ride were all great additions to an amazing concert. So we grabbed us some tickets to the show at AT&T Park in the best seats we could find (and afford – ha) and made a night of it. We spontaneously decided to go after we got home from Spain. Oh hey, so did I mention we went to the last US show in the On the Run Tour? I had an amazing time and I can’t wait to get back up there. We went back to South Pine Cafe for breakfast (old habits die hard) and then drove all over the place, checking out everything we could, including the little town of Rough and Ready (because the name is amazing!). Our trip was so great. Btw, did you know they have award winning pizzas? Like, two world champion pizzas. Then, we did dinner at Lefty’s, where they not only serve amazing food, but wave the corkage fee on bottles of wine bought in town. We went back up that Thursday and had a great time! We did lunch at South Pine Cafe, which is one of my favorite restaurants anywhere, walked through the historic downtown, visited some tasting rooms, grabbed coffee, played chess before dinner (I always win…and I’m never sure if he let’s me beat him or if I’m actually decent 😉 ) and took a few moody pictures… I found this sweet hotel called the Outside Inn, did some research and planned an overnight stay for JBoat and me. So, when I went back up to Nevada City two weeks ago to get some really good coffee at the Curly Wolf on Broad street and spend the day wandering around, I decided it was about time I stayed there. Those ^ are a few pictures I took this summer at the South Yuba River and Malakoff Diggins Historic State Park, btw 🙂 For the past few years, I’ve been up there from time to time to hike, swim in the South Yuba River, visit the state parks, go wine tasting…There’s so much to do there. That was my first encounter with this little town off Hwy 49. So, being me, I did a ton of research and found out that there were several great options in the town (we ended up at Friar Tucks). Who would’ve thought? Until my last year of high school, when my senior ball was in Nevada City, that is. I didn’t explore much, just went to school and back for the most part. Having spent so much time in Sacramento (my parents also worked there for years), I kinda thought of Auburn and all that Sierra Foothills stuff as a bit…hokey.

But, it was a bad experience and I couldn’t imagine having to go back for my junior year, so I transferred over to a school in Auburn (40-ish minutes from my hometown). So, I went to high school in Sacramento (half an hour-ish from my hometown) for two years.
